Digitally: A Font That Transforms Your Brand Into a Futuristic Statement

I was staring at a brand board for a small, independent craft beer brewery. The brief was clear: modern, bold, and a little retro-futuristic, with nods to old-school tech aesthetics. I’d sketched a logo concept involving a stylized circuit board pattern, but the type was holding everything back. My usual sans-serif felt too sterile. A playful script felt wrong. I opened my font library, scrolled past the usual suspects, and landed on Digitally. I dragged it into the headline placeholder on my logo draft and something clicked. Immediately, the mood of the board shifted. That blank canvas wasn’t blank anymore; it had a direction, a personality. This wasn’t just a font swap; it was an identity unlock.

Digitally Brings a Digital Clock Personality to Modern Branding

Digitally is a display font that, as its name suggests, pulls its aesthetic directly from the clean, segmented numerals of a digital clock. Each character is built from distinct blocks, creating a geometric, pixel-inspired feel without being overly literal or childish. This isn’t a font that screams “video game”; it whispers “precision” and “forward-thinking.” In my real test for that brewery project, Digitally gave the logo a foundational tech-edge that felt authentic. The character set is complete and legible at headline sizes, with a uniformity that makes it excellent for creating strong, memorable wordmarks. As a display font, Digitally excels in short phrases, names, and impactful statements.

Using Digitally for Product Packaging and Label Design

After seeing its power in the logo, I moved Digitally onto a packaging mockup. The client’s core product was a limited-edition IPA, and the can needed to stand out in a crowded fridge. I placed the brewery name, now set in Digitally, across the top of the can template. The effect was immediate: the packaging gained a confident, contemporary anchor. The font’s blocky construction held its own against bold background graphics, and the digital clock resemblance subtly communicated a “crafted with precision” message. For any product packaging—from skincare bottles to boutique food labels—Digitally offers a headline anchor that feels both robust and distinctly modern. It’s particularly effective on t-shirts and merchandise, where its clean forms print crisply and translate a brand’s ethos into wearable graphics.

Digitally on Website Headers and Social Media Layouts

Any brand identity needs to live digitally, and this is where Digitally truly shines. I built a simple website header for the brewery, placing their name in Digitally over a hero image. In this context, the font’s digital roots feel perfectly native, creating a cohesive bridge between the brand’s concept and its online presence. For social media layouts, using Digitally for quote graphics or key announcement posts injects a premium, designed feel into the feed. Its high-impact style ensures these posts break the scroll pattern and grab attention. However, this is a display font. I would never use Digitally for body text on a website or long paragraphs in a social media caption. Its readability suffers at small sizes, and its unique character is meant for emphasis, not exposition.

Digitally for Invitations, Posters, and Editorial Accents

Beyond core branding, Digitally has a fantastic role in specific collateral. I tested it on a concert poster concept for a synthwave music event. The event name set in Digitally became the central, unforgettable element, perfectly matching the music’s aesthetic. For invitations, especially those for tech launches, modern gallery openings, or contemporary wedding events, Digitally can set the tone with its first impression. It works beautifully as an accent font within a more traditional typographic system. Pairing Digitally with a clean, neutral sans-serif for supporting text creates a dynamic hierarchy: the display font dazzles, the supportive typeface clarifies. This pairing strategy is key; let Digitally be the star on your posters, flyers, and quotes, and choose a simple, readable partner for all other information.

Practical Considerations Before Using Digitally in Client Work

Testing a font like Digitally is crucial before committing to it for a client. Always check how it renders at the sizes you’ll actually use. Print a test business card or label mockup. See it on your phone screen as a social media graphic. Ensure its commercial licensing covers your intended use—client branding, product packaging, and merchandise. As a display font, Digitally is a powerful tool, but it’s a specialist tool. It’s not suitable for formal corporate reports, lengthy body text in books, or any context where universal readability is the sole priority. Its strength is in creating a mood, making a statement, and defining a visual niche. For projects that aim for futuristic, tech-inspired, bold, or precision-oriented branding, Digitally offers an incredibly interesting and original solution that goes far beyond mere decoration.

In my final brand presentation for the craft brewery, the board anchored by Digitally felt cohesive, confident, and uniquely positioned. The font didn’t just fill a space; it defined a space. From the logo draft to the packaging, the website header to the imagined event posters, Digitally provided a consistent, compelling voice. For designers, entrepreneurs, and creators looking to inject a dose of controlled futurism into their visual identity, this display font is more than a typeface—it’s a ready-made brand attitude.
